Past Events 

RAIN BARREL CONTEST:  A rain barrel decorating contest was held at Carter Lake Elementary School in April and May of 2009.  The completed barrels were displayed at the Carter Lake City Hall open house and given away to community members through a free raffle at Community Days in June.

RAIN GARDEN PLANTING:  Volunteers gathered to plant the east rain garden in Carter Lake on Saturday, May 16, 2009.

IOWA CHILDREN'S WATER FESTIVAL:  The Iowa Children's Water Festival was held in Ankeny, Iowa on Thursday, May 14, 2009.  The Project Coordinator distributed lake project information and water quality education to an estimated 1,500 fifth grade students from across Iowa.

BOW-HUNTING TOURNAMENT:  A bow-hunting tournament was held on the lake for area fisherman on Saturday, May 2, 2009.

ANNUAL LAKE CLEAN-UP DAY:  The Carter Lake Preservation Society held their annual lake clean-up on Saturday, April 18, 2009.
